The idea is once they understand the concepts they can do the problems...without the manipulatives.  But you start in the concrete move to drawing and then to symbols and soon the math facts are not just memorized but learned.

		<description>We do not homeschool full time but my daughter striggles with math so much that we supplement her learning with as much as we can so that she can keep up with others her age.</description>
