Whether you’ve just started home schooling, or you’re a seasoned veteran, it’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of not only teaching, but also the demands of daily life. Before you know it, you’ve become almost like a recluse.
Most of us would like to surround ourselves with kindred spirits. But then we think of the extra demands on our schedule that that might create, and decide we just don’t have time to regularly visit with other homeschoolers.
So day after day, we bravely plug away, trying to figure everything out on our own, not realizing that the same problems and situations we’re facing are also being faced by other like-minded parents.
But where do you find these other homeschoolers? Well, the answer is right in front of you, on your computer. The internet.
The two best resource we’ve found for locating homeschool support groups and organizations are Homeschool World, where you can find a group by country or state, or for special needs homeschoolers:
>>> http://home-school.com/groups/
And the second is Homeschool.com, with a state-by-state listing:
>>> http://www.homeschool.com/supportgroups/default.asp
Yahoo Groups are well represented, and there are numerous local
groups where you can interact live with other homeschoolers
(recommended).
Homeschool Facts also has an excellent USA listing of homeschool groups. Just click on your state:

If you just don’t have the time or inclination to join a live, in-person local group, or you can’t find one close by, at least get in with an online group. Really. You’ll be glad you did.
