We are Brian & Lisa Lee, a husband and wife team who began homeschooling our three boys in the year 1999. We may be a lot like you in many ways, in that we saw the problems in the public school system, and we decided that there had to be a better way.

Not wanting to shell out thousands of dollars per year for private schools, and still wary of what they might learn even there, we made a deliberate decision to homeschool our boys.

Our decision to home school actually came before we were even married. Yes, we discussed this subject very early, to say the least! We decided that if we were blessed with children in our marriage, we would home school them.

When our first child Matthew was born, we were ready. At two months of age, school started. Class consisted of flash cards, videos, and music. Seemed pretty simple at first.

Then, as Matthew approached “school age”, and two more boys had arrived, we began to look at developing a full-blown home school program for all three.

Now it seemed so overwhelming. What were the legal requirements? What curriculum should we use that wouldn’t conflict with our conservative Christian beliefs? And did we have time to do it?

The questions seemed almost endless. But after a lot of research, and deciding that this was something we MUST do if we wanted to give our boys the quality of education they deserve, we took the plunge.

We’ve learned a lot since then, sometimes the hard way.

But whether it was by trial and error, or just plain reading and researching, we’ve discover a ton of useful information that we felt would greatly benefit other homeschoolers or potential homeschoolers.

We’ll do our best do give you useful, practical information, week in and week out, and we’ll keep you informed of the latest-breaking developments and issues that affect homeschooling.

We like to keep things concise and to-the-point, so you won’t get a lot of useless fluff. We may get off on what appears to be a rabbit trail once in a while, but there will be a good reason for it.

We’ll point you to what we believe are the best resources for educating your child. We’ll give you as many freebies as possible, and you’ll receive information on the most economical sources of paid materials as well.

We’ll also tackle the challenges you face as a homeschooling parent, such as time management, and staying organized and motivated. You’ll also discover ways to make learning fun and easy for your child.
